A new national development organisation for youth theatre in England

We are creating a new organisation to support and advocate for youth theatre in England. We are led by a steering group of representatives from youth theatres across the country and supported by some of theatre’s biggest national organisations.

So far, we have:

Led the biggest ever survey of youth theatres in England, to find out who they are, how they work and what they need.

Created a publicly accessible map of youth theatres, so that everyone can find a youth theatre near them.

Brought more than 150 youth theatre people together to define our sector’s priorities for the next five years.

Formed a national steering group made up of youth theatres from every region to drive our work forward.

Now, we are:

Inviting everyone in youth theatre to share ideas for our first Strategic Plan.

We’ve created the outline of a strategic plan that will define Youth Theatre Together’s key aims over the next 3-5 years. We want to hear your ideas for how to deliver the change that young people and youth theatres need.

Deadline: 5pm, Friday 15th May

Later this year, we will:

June and July

Bring more than 300 youth theatre participants and leaders together across the country to refine and develop the ideas that we collect in the consultation exercise above.

September - December

Finalise and publish the strategic plan and begin to set up Youth Theatre Together as a permanent organisation with the resources, structure and remit to drive change for young people and youth theatres across England.

“I came out feeling truly inspired and rejuvenated. It gave me the push to go into work the next day and really strive for the young people we work with, more than ever before.”
