About
Youth Theatre Together is being organised by a group of six Arts Council National Portfolio youth theatres - 20 Stories High, Burnley Youth Theatre, Company Three, Theatre Factory, Mortal Fools and Prime Theatre - the same organisations who organised the 2024 Youth Theatre Census. It is led on their behalf by independent director and consultant Ned Glasier and produced by Emmy Lahouel. It is funded by Arts Council England.
Youth Theatre Together is a direct response to the findings of the Youth Theatre Census which showed that, despite their transformative work with young people, youth theatres in England are underfunded, under pressure and disconnected. Our key recommendation in our Census report was for a new national development agency for youth theatre in England. At Youth Theatre Together, we will lay the foundations for this new organisation.
Youth Theatre Together is for everyone, but particularly those organisations who are least heard on a national basis - whether that’s because of resources, time, geography, or the nature of your work.
We’re working hard to make it purposeful, accessible, welcoming, useful and joyful. We’re excited to host it Contact - an organisation and venue that puts young people at the heart of everything they do.
We’re working at pace to create the event. This means we may not have all the answers - yet. If you have any questions or ideas, please contact us.
